Awaken your senses

How would it be if every movement that you made, from the tiniest wiggle of your toes, to the larger expression of walking, was an experience of deep awareness and sensual delight? What if every time you blinked, you were present to the full wonder of who you are and who those around you really are?

Pine coneI live in a city, and I feel how my body slightly tenses up against the constant noise. When I go to the seaside or into nature, hearing the leaves rustle or seeing the sun shimmering over the water, I feel automatically how my body softens and relaxes into the sound.

This is what Love's Body is up to, you will wake up an awareness of sensation in your body, using different breaths that activate different systems within your body, to wake up on the inside.

Awaken consciousness

How do you speak of your Self? Is your expression of yourself as magical as the ocean, or as intriguing as a trickling stream? Is your speaking a delight to your system?

Stones balancingSo often we fall into patterns of movement, thought and action, so that the part of us that isn't being engaged often falls asleep. We carry our bag on the same shoulder, we wear our watch on the same wrist, and we pick up the telephone with the same hand. All this seems a minor matter, but we do the same with our thoughts; we repeatedly think the same thoughts about our self, we speak the same way about our self, as though we have no choice.

Over time our body shapes itself around our thoughts and our habits and patterns, until it becomes a closed loop. What is something you refer to of yourself, as if it is a fact? Maybe; "I am tired", or, "It never works out for me", or "I'm shy", etc.

Awaken perception

Take a moment and get a sense of how someone moves if they are tired, or shy. How does their body shape itself around this thought?

Then play forward how often you say these things about yourself and how normal it becomes to move in a certain way. Our body becomes rigid to these forms; you may be relaxing but your shoulders are still hunched, you may be sleeping but your neck is still tight.

Awaken movement

As our consciousness forms around our movement, our movement is dictated by how we view ourselves. In this work we use breath and sound (which is a variety of exhales), and sensation, to allow the body to soften it's body armor.

This allows us to regain movement and flexibility in our body as well as our thoughts. At first it may feel like there's nothing going on, then all of a sudden a new movement emerges, a softening occurs, an awakening begins... a new expression. We begin to appreciate our selves in a new way.

In Loves Body you will bring different impulses into your system around which your body begins to re-organize itself, and you will begin to wake up your ability to feel more fully.
